It's all about ...

SOCCER! That's definately the truht if you are living in Germany right now. As many of you probably know Germany is hosting the 2006 FIFA World Cup right now. The opening game was last Friday. And everybody is going crazy :).
Games are at 3, 6 and 9 pm (our time) and there are screens everywhere. Every pub, many cafés, some restaurants all have screens outside. The weather is quite hot, so everybody's out watching the games. Many huge screens too. People sport jerseys of "their" team, cars sport national flags, everyone talks soccer, watches soccer, dreams soccer (probably ...)
My beloved and I watched the opening game outside with several hundred people. Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2. Yeah!
And I am quite exited myself, because I do have tickets for a game. My sister and I will be at the stadion in Cologne this Saturday watching Ghana play the Czech Republic!
